Southern Oregon Indie Rock Band Summer Colds Releases the Deluxe Edition of Their Beloved Sophomore Album “Missing Out”
Indie Rock/Power Pop outfit Summer Colds, fronted by Nic McNamara, released their highly anticipated second album, Missing Out, on Halloween, 2025. The sophomore effort marks a bold evolution for the Southern Oregon-based band, delivering a harder, denser, and more textured sound infused with grungy garage rock, emo exhilaration, and razor-sharp lyrical wit.
Written and recorded during the pandemic years, Missing Out builds on the fuzzy pop sensibilities and melancholic poetry of the band’s 2019 debut, Here Comes Nothing. Tracks like the standout single “Dear Life” blend distorted alt-rock nostalgia with pop-punk energy, exploring themes of ennui, disillusionment, and personal reflection with hooks that resonate deeply.
“Summer Colds has crafted an album that feels both intensely personal and universally relatable. These songs capture the isolation and introspection of recent years, turning it into something raw and cathartic.”
Summer Colds expanded the record to include a new stripped-down, acoustic version of the single “Dear Life” and re-released Missing Out through IDOL and Paper Garden Records.
Missing Out (Deluxe Edition) is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
